WELCOME PARTY

If you're in town and ready to get down, please join us for a Welcome Party on Friday 12/10/21 6-9 PM.

Drop in when you can or hang for the duration!

Free Range Brewing in NoDa
2320 N Davidson St, Charlotte, NC 28205
freerangebrewing.com

We'll feed you pizza from Intermezzo and have water and non-alcoholic beverages available. If you're beer-thirsty, Free Range has a fantastic selection at the bar!

A pass-the-mic is happening around 7 PM for some folks who want to say nice things/tell embarrassing stories. Anyone is more than welcome to grab the mic and join them, if so moved, and we will probably steal it at some point to tell you all how much we love you.

WEDDING DAY

Clarke and Nate will get hitched on Saturday 12/11/21 (it's a palindrome!).

The Palmer Building
2601 E 7th St, Charlotte, NC 28204
thepalmerbuilding.com
Lots of parking on site!

Schedule:

4 PM Guests arrive. Drinks and light hors d'oeuvres served.

5 PM We are married by our dear friend, the recently ordained Joshua Joy. Guitarist John Gurske, also a dear friend, plays a processional (that Clarke picked out to make Nate cry). We are so grateful to Josh and John for helping make our day special.

Reception immediately follows--buffet-style dinner, open bar, DJ, dancing, and of course, Pepperbox Doughnuts!

9 PM
Reception ends, and everyone is sad. The best wedding you've ever been to is now over.

10 PM
Party animals head to Smokey Joe's, a bar less than a mile down the road from the Palmer Building, for an after-party and nightcaps!

Smokey Joe's
510 Briar Creek Rd, Charlotte, NC 28205
smokeyjoescharlotte.com

Folks can walk from the Palmer Building (0.7 miles or about a 10-15 minute walk), though you may want to bring sneakers with you to throw on. (Or just wear your sneaks to the wedding. You can totally pull off that look.)

There are rideshare options (Lyft, Uber, etc.) and taxis, all of which can be unpredictable in Charlotte. Sometimes it takes 3 minutes to get a Lyft on a Saturday night, and sometimes there's an hour wait and twice the normal cost. So if you're planning on a rideshare, consider scheduling ahead of time for pick-up at the Palmer Building.

OTHER STUFF

Dress Code - No dress code, duh. Come as casual or as fancy-pants as you like. We just want everyone to be comfortable. But that's not helpful, you say. Just tell me what to wear, dammit! Ok fine, here's our best guess... There'll be probably a lot of suits and cocktail dresses, probably a lot of "dressy casual." Pajamas unlikely, but we won't judge you. No black tie, unless you really wants to go nuts. Nate will not be wearing a tie. Neither will Clarke.

Registry - The phrase "your presence is our present" is meant in earnest. We want to see you and celebrate with you. Making time for us in your busy adulting schedules is tough. Travel, hotel, pet/baby/house-sitters are expensive and a lot to coordinate. We don't need table settings. We just want to see your beautiful faces and give you big squeezy hugs (if you're into hugs), please and thank you.

Registry Part II: The Registry Strikes Back - Our very wise friend Igal pointed out that some folks will get us wedding gifts even if we say no gifts and that we're just making it difficult for everyone by not having a registry. (He also threatened to get us inflatable T-Rex costumes for a wedding gift if there's no helpful registry, but we don't know why he thinks that's a disincentive. Everybody loves dinos, Igal.)

This is the link to our registry (a honeymoon fund and a charity fund). Please do not feel obligated to buy us stuff or give us money, especially if you bought plane tickets to get here or had to shell out for a hotel! zola.com/registry/clarkeandnate

Kids - Childcare can be a nightmare, especially for parents going out of town. We know some folks might not be able to attend without their kiddos, so please bring them if you need! We will have plenty of food options for them. Just let us know so we'll have an accurate head count.
